Are you looking for something to do on a boring Sunday afternoon? Here’s a tasty dessert and snack. It’s simple and easy to make. Credits to Nino’s Home on Youtube.
Ingredients & Equipment
Step 1: Use the cheese grate to make orange shavings from one of the oranges. Put the shaving onto the frying pan. Step 2: Cut all the oranges in half. Squeeze all of their juice into the bowl/cup. Pour the juice though the sieve and onto the frying pan (use a spoon to stir the extra juice on the sieve, if necessary. Step 3: Pour 100g of sugar (½ cup), 40g of cornstarch (⅓ cup) onto the frying pan. And stir with the whisk until the mixture turns a light orange colour (it’s okay if orange shavings haven’t dissolved). Step 4: Put the frying pan on the stove and turn on medium heat. Stir with whisk until the mixture turns into a gelatinous paste. Step 5: Put 10g of butter, and a pinch of salt into the mixture and stir with a spatula/spoon on low heat for 15 minutes. Stir until the mixture has turned into a gelatinous mass. Step 6: Place the mixture onto a clingfilm and shape the mixture into a flat cuboid. Then wrap the clingfilm over the mixture and leave to cool off. Step 7: (the last step!) Place the mixture onto a cutting board and unwrap it. Cut into cubes with a knife and place into a bowl with sugar. Cover the cubes thoroughly with sugar. Place on a plate and enjoy!
